Agribusiness (BS)
Agribusiness accounts for an annual economic impact of $51.8 billion in South Carolina and trillions nationally.
There is strong demand and exciting career potential for individuals who have mastered the business and economic skills required to be a leader in the agriculture, food, fiber and forestry industries.
Agribusiness students gain the skill set needed for a rewarding career in any area of the food and fiber industry, state and federal agencies, and the growing private sector of agribusiness management, banking, finance, sales, marketing and public relations.
The agribusiness industry supports almost 260,000 jobs in South Carolina.
Through our Bachelor’s-to-Graduate program, eligible students can begin working on their Master of Science in agricultural and applied economics while finishing their bachelor’s degree.

What You'll Study
The focus of your studies will be on the applied economics and business decision-making principles within the agri-food sector. As part of that, your classes will include agribusiness economics and management, data analysis, marketing, sales, finance, accounting, and future/commodity markets.
It is highly recommended to choose and complete a minor that will complement your interests and career goals. Our graduates go on to pursue careers in sales, public policy, finance and real estate as well as entrepreneurial startups.
Just as important as classroom work is what we call experiential learning. You'll be strongly encouraged to have at least one internship during your time on campus, and you'll have the opportunity to study abroad and even perform research alongside one of your professors.
