Profile
I am the Natural Resources Program Director for Clemson Cooperative Extension providing statewide programmatic leadership to extension agents working in forestry, wildlife and water. I received both a B.S and M.S in Forest Management from Clemson University and am a registered forester. My experience is working in land management and environmental regulations since 1998. I have worked with landowners on establishing objectives, writing and implementation of management plans, timber sales, reforestation, prescribe burning, cost share programs, GPS, GIS mapping and endangered species assessments. I have a vast background in freshwater wetlands and critical area determination and verification, restoration of freshwater wetlands and critical area, environmental permitting and storm water monitoring.
I have begun to work closely within the biomass sector and in regards to the use of wood pellets for energy production. The urban forestry market and interest has been growing over the last several years and my understanding and background has been increasing due to the new interest in our urban forest.
