Profile

A life-long gardener, Cory earned a B.S. and an M.S. in horticulture from Clemson University and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in entomology. Prior to employment with Clemson Extension, he worked in the nursery trade, producing quality landscape trees and shrubs. A prolific writer, Cory previously authored a monthly column for SC Living Magazine called SC Gardener and frequently appears as an expert panelist on SCETV's award-winning gardening program, Making It Grow!.

Extension and Outreach

As the Horticulture Program Team Director I provide statewide programmatic leadership to extension agents working in horticultural food crops (commercial fruit and vegetable production) and urban horticulture (school & community gardening, consumer horticulture, and the ornamental nursery and landscape industry). I deliver educational programs and consultation services to landscapers and nursery professionals and share home gardening advice, teach Master Gardener lessons throughout the state, and write horticultural columns and fact sheets.
