Research Interests
As the Extension Peanut Specialist for South Carolina, my research interests encompass several areas of peanut production, including agronomics, integrated pest management and epidemiology. My research activities (25% of appointment) address both applied and basic peanut production questions to improve yield, sustainability and grower profit. Results generated from research are directly integrated into Extension efforts to maximize impact on stakeholders.
Extension and Outreach
My Extension responsibilities (75% of appointment) address production issues across South Carolina and cover peanuts that will be used in-shell, shelled and for processing. A combination of both traditional and contemporary means are used to provide clientele with the most up to date and reliable recommendations for products, varieties and management tactics. Helping growers is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.
